Thomas Tatham, O.D.

Dr. Tatham specializes in primary eye care for children, teens, and adults of all ages. Licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Optometry, Dr. Tatham received the latest training in general eye care, identification, and treatment of ocular diseases, contact lens fitting, and application of lenses for the correction of visual deficiencies.

Dr. Tatham is a native of Canton, NC, and has always dreamed of practicing in the mountains. He attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree and was a four-year letterman on the baseball team. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry, in Memphis, Tennessee where he was a student ambassador for the college. After graduation, Dr. Tatham joined a VOSH trip to provide free eye care to patients in Merida, Mexico. Dr. Tatham served two Externships, one with Piedmont Eyecare in Charlotte, NC, and one at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta, a surgical co-management center.

Dr. Tatham joined Asheville Eye Associates in 2023. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, playing music in the Pinnacle Church Band, camping, and coaching basketball and baseball.
