Dr. Killian is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the eye.  He is a native of Western North Carolina and graduated from Davidson College with a B.S. in Biology. He earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine as well as an MBA from the Wake Forest University Babcock Graduate School of Management in Winston-Salem, NC. He was recognized as a Gold Humanism Honor Society Scholar and received the Robert N. White Award for his research in health care management. Dr. Killian completed his internship in internal medicine from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY, and his residency in ophthalmology from New York University and Manhattan, Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.

Dr. Killian joined Asheville Eye Associates in 2009 and is currently seeing patients at our Franklin office. He is a fifth-generation physician who is proud to continue the family tradition of serving the people of Western North Carolina and Northern Georgia. Dr. Killian’s father, the late John H. Killian, M.D., was the first retinal surgeon in WNC.

Dr. Killian and his wife have two children and he enjoys traveling, fly-fishing and snowboarding.
