Dr. Christopher Komanski is a board-certified Ophthalmologist that specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous and retina including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal tears and detachments. A Florida native, Dr. Komanski received his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine. As a medical school, he won the award for Best Ophthalmology student. He also holds degrees in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the University of Central Florida and Bioengineering Innovation and Design from John Hopkins. His post graduate training includes a residency and chief residency at Wake Forest University and fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City. He was awarded best ophthalmology resident and best ophthalmology fellow during his training.

He says that “taking care of patients, whether improving their vision or helping them cope with difficult disease, gives me meaning and purpose in life. Whether reattaching a retina in the operating room or performing procedures in the clinic to protect vision, I enjoy using advanced technology to help people see better.”

When not in the operating room or clinic, Dr. Komanski is an avid adventurer. Whether mountain biking, kitesurfing, or fishing, he loves spending time with his wife and two sons.
